Wintertime...

...and I feel like crocheting and knitting!  Yes, we have been having a warm spell these last few days, but they say that the colder temps are coming.

I'm Bohemian at heart and I've been looking around the net for a simple free pattern for slouch and kufi hats and I found these two dynamic ladies called the Double Stitch Twins! I already had one of their patterns, cute headbands...I love those, but didn't know that they had so much more to offer! They truly are Crochet Fashionistas! Enjoy this video of their Multi-way Shawl...my new inspiration! And remember to...

I'm back blogworld to...

...Welcome 2013!
I'm starting this year off right with "BALANCE!" I read my devotion this morning via Youversion, which is a download able app that I have on my tablet and droid. Word on the go you can say. They have daily plans that you can choose from and reminders you can set to alert you to read your Word daily. I'm doing good with it so I thought I would share the goodness!

Anyway, the devotion was about living a "sustainable" life! I've been pushing myself too hard, going beyond my limits, ignoring the warning signs for quite some time now and yes, I've even found myself saying "I can't do this much longer" and asking myself "why am I doing this and who am I doing this for?" I've been ignoring the warning signs both in my body and piece of mind. Today's lesson spoke so clearly to me so now it's time to take heed to God's direction. I enjoy ministry and life, but how many know that too much of a good thing, and life without direction can destroy you. We NEED balance. This is my New Resolution--Balance from the Inside OUT!

I will take time out for ME! I WILL finish what I start! I will learn how to say NO! I will take time out for GOD, I will live a SUSTAINABLE life!

So, with that being said, let's end this thing on a creative note, yeah!  I'd like to share a project I completed for Scrapbook News and Review Magazine! I was a Featured Artist there last month and created an Altered Cutting Board that's easy to do. Here's the tutorial:

Supplies you will need:

Trim outer edges of board with paint.

Trace cutting board shape for template. Paper-piece handle area.

Use Mod Podge generously to adhere paper to cutting board.

Apply medium to entire project and allow to dry. Medium will dry clear.

Add embellishments with medium and allow to dry.

Finished Cutting Board

Well, that's all for now but remember to live a sustainable life in whatever you do be it
Work, Play, Love, Exercise, Worship, Prayer or Laughter!

Happy New Year and remember to...
